Why Debbie
I know what it feels like to spend years taking care of everyone else and wonder where you went in the process.
I have been a family caregiver for over forty years, beginning when I was seventeen and my father had a massive stroke. Over the years, I cared for my father, supported one of my sons through special needs and mental health challenges, and later became a caregiver for my husband.
At the same time, I spent the first ten years of my professional life working as a CPA before running my own insurance agency for more than thirty years. For a long time, I thought I was just supposed to keep going, keep handling things, and keep putting myself last.
But when I turned fifty, something shifted. I realized I didn’t want to get to the end of my life and wonder why I never truly lived it.
I didn’t have all the answers, but I started taking one small step at a time.
At fifty-nine, I became a first-time author when I wrote my memoir, On Second Thought… Maybe I Can! Since then, I’ve written The Sprinkle Effect™, created journals, workbooks, card decks, and practical tools to help women reconnect with themselves and move forward in a way that feels doable.
I didn’t set out to become an author or speaker.
I just started taking small steps, even when I wasn’t sure I could.
